Anti tumour activity of Siddha herb Plumbago zeylanica

ACTION OF PLUMBAGIN IN CERVICAL CANCER CELLS
Plumbagin inhibits the growth of ME 180 Cells in concentration and time dependent manner. The cytotoxic effect of Plumbagin induced cell death is through the generation of reactive oxygen species and subsequent induction of apoptosis.
ACTION OF PLUMBAGIN ON LUNG CANCER CELL
Plumbagin exibited effective cell growth inhibition by inducing cancer cell to undergo apoptosis.Blockade of cell cycle was associated with increased level of P21 and reduced amounts of cyclin B1,Cdc2 and Cdc 25 C.
ANTICANCER EFFCT OF PLUMBAGIN IN BREAST CANCER CELL
Plumbagin exibited cell proliferation inhibition by inducing cells to undergo and autophagic cell death.plumbagin triggerd autophagic cell death but not predominantly apoptosis.
